Welsh dairy farmers have been told not to fear competition from Poland following recent EU enlargement.
Ionwen Lewis, vice chair of the Farmers’ Union of Wales’ Ceredigion branch recently visited both Poland and East Germany and has been quick to allay dairy producers’ fears.
“After what I saw, I believe the Germans will have more to fear from Polish competition than us.
“I don’t think either country can teach us much, if anything, about quality milk production, and we all share the same problem of reduced prices for produce and ever-increasing production costs.”
