Background: Morton began her career as a poultry, fish and eggs buyer for Waitrose in the early '80s. She went on to become Danepak product manager, then general sales manager for Baren Meats ­ part of the Sutherland Group. She joined Hazlewood in the early 1990s, becoming commercial manager for its Derbyshire chilled foods wing before taking the role of general manager, chilled ready meals.
