He is a specialist in consumer focused strategy, brand positioning and market segmentation. Mackay said: "I am delighted to welcome Mark. Sherrington will join the brewer ­ which this week completed its purchase of the Miller Brewing Company ­ at the end of the month. SAB ­ which is to be renamed SABMiller ­ says the acquisition will make it the world's second largest brewer by volume. Background: Sherrington was previously chief executive of marketing agency The Added Value Company, which he co-founded in 1988 as part of the WPP Group. Before that he worked for Unilever for 11 years in marketing roles, rising to take charge of the Persil brand. He then assumed responsibility for detergents marketing in Middle East, Far East and South American markets.
