Carrefour has signed a deal with SourcingLink to allow it to talk to its global suppliers over the internet.
The SourcingCentre solution provides an automated supply chain business process allowing Carrefour to exchange information electronically.
All its 24,000 suppliers will have to use the system.
Phase one will connect Carrefour's offices in Hong Kong, Italy and Mexico to 1,500 suppliers worldwide. Phase Two will connect buyers in each operating country to 22,500 local suppliers.
Phase Three, next year, will provide additional business information exchange data.
