Allied Domecq is introducing a new flavoured rum, Kuya, Stateside this summer.

The spirits group said it would launch the tipple - which combines imported rums, natural spices and citrus flavours - in 18 markets in the US this month, with a full national rollout planned for September.

The drinks giant said it was spending more than $20m through to August 2004 to market Kuya which is targeted at twenty-somethings.
