West Country convenience chain Newshops has marked the opening of its 80th store with a name change to Smile Stores.

Chief executive Jeremy Symonds said the company was renamed to reflect the fact that most of the company’s stores had now been rebadged under its preferred Smile fascia.

He said: “It is appropriate that we lose the ‘Newshops’ name as we start the new financial year.”
Smile’s new convenience store is in Keynsham, between Bristol and Bath.
