IGD chief executive Joanne Denney warned that the industry's b2b exchanges were still surrounded by too much "damaging confusion" that was making many companies wary of joining them. "The whole subject of b2b exchanges involves more than its fair share of jargon and is naturally confusing. Unless we clear that up quickly the exchanges will never achieve their potential," Denney said. To help cut through that confusion, IGD published a major guide to the exchanges at the conference. Denney said: "By harnessing technology, standards and methodologies we can enrich our business relationships, boost competition and strip out cost and waste. Our industry will never do business in the same way again." However, Denney said the industry had to work hard to avoid her "nightmare scenario" where the exchanges collapsed before they ever realised their full potential. {{NEWS }}
