NFU president Ben Gill this week accused the British government of "walking away from its responsibilities" for currency rates. The NFU is one of a group of trade associations which has commissioned detailed research into the role that exchange rates and derived indicators such as the Intervention Manufacturing Price Equivalent (IMPE) are playing in determining domestic market pricing.
