Soft drinks manufacturer Nichols' half-year pre-tax profit to 30 June rose 15.1% to £2.27m on sales up 6.7% at £26.19m.

The group said that all of its brands were performing well, boosted by better than average summer weather.

John Nichols, chairman of Nichols, said: “We are now a stronger and more focused business and our core brands, particularly Vimto, continue to perform strongly in a highly competitive market place. We anticipate that our full-year results will show further progress.”
