New fireworks regulations come into force today, one of which makes it illegal for retailers to sell fireworks that are louder than 120 decibels.
A new licensing system for wholesalers and retailers will also be introduced on January 1.
Suppliers who sell fireworks all year round will need to apply for a licence from their local authority and other retailers will be limited in the periods when they can sell fireworks.
