Gluten-free supplier Nutrition Point is re-branding under the banner of its parent company, Dr Schär.

The Warrington-based maker of the DS gluten-free brand was acquired by Germany’s Dr Schär in 2002. Nutrition Point managing director Bob Trice said the name change to Dr Schär UK  was a “logical step” for the company.

“The company has a strong focus on innovation, quality, research and development,” he said. “It provides great-tasting gluten free foods which are sold globally and are developed by consumer driven research – qualities we’ve been renowned for as Nutrition Point for many years.”

Trice added: “It’s a tremendously exciting time for us. We’ve just launched our gluten-free foodservice range under our DS-gluten free brand, which has opened up a whole new revenue stream for the company.”

Dr Schär employs more than 400 people across manufacturing sites in the UK, Italy and Germany.
