Castel, the French owners of off-licence chain Oddbins, is threatening legal action after it claimed that it had been barred from buying any of the remaining Unwins stores.
The group claims that Threshers acquisition of 200 Unwins stores late last year contained a condition that Unwins’ administrators KPMG were not allowed to sell any of the remaining stores to Oddbins.
Castel claims that it wanted to buy 30-40 of the stores.
