Devon based Riverford Organic Vegetables has won a direct supply deal with Plymco, the south west cooperative, to provide a range of products in its 27 stores. Apart from locally grown vegetables which account for 90% of volume, it will also be providing some imported fruit. Packs will carry the Riverford brand and sales have been estimated to be worth £1,000 per week initially. - MP Michael Jack, a former Conservative agriculture minister with a commercial background in horticulture, will be one of the speakers at the Organic Fruit Conference being held in Kent on Octobver 16-17. {{FRESH PRODUCE }}
