Sir; re: SA says it agrees with Mintel doom' (The Grocer, January 12, p8). This news item was misleading. The organic food market is clearly not under threat Mintel and the Soil Association agree sales are more than £800m a year and rising by around a third annually. We also predict retail sales will top £1bn next year. Both organisations also recognise that a core group of consumers is responsible for the majority of sales. However, unlike Mintel, our research shows that more people are buying organic food more regularly and spending more each trip. Hardly a gloomy scenario.
