Consumers are getting hungrier for more information on their menus, according to a survey.
The origin of meat served in restaurants is increasing in importance, said research conducted by NOP World.
The survey found 61% of consumers said it was important to know where meat eaten outside the home comes from, compared with 55% in the previous two years.
The news was welcomed by the MLC. Foodservice trade manager Tony Goodger said: “The move by the country’s largest branded chain fast food operator to provide customers with information about origin of all its ingredients is the clearest indicator yet that consumers’ concern in this area is growing.”
