One of the unique features of our new awards is that consumers as well as expert judges will decide the winners.
All products will be put to the test by consumer panels whose membership will reflect a cross-section of the UK population.
To conduct this work, The Grocer has teamed up with Cambridge Market Research. Entrants will be provided with a top-line report from the panels which will give a real insight as to what consumers think.
The awards are open to any own label products as long as they are commercially available. In all, there are 17 categories to enter, covering all the main food sectors as well as emerging product areas such as organic, fair trade, speciality and better-for-you.
The Grocer’s editor Julian Hunt said: “Our scheme will provide a fantastic platform for winners to promote their products. Furthermore, our unique judging process means that the winners will be able to highlight the fact their product has been given the thumbs up by consumers.”
