Leading cash and carry operator AG Parfett and Sons is introducing a Fairtrade range for the first time following demand from its independent retail customers.

The range from Fairtrade specialists Café Direct will include 12 mainstream products such as tea, coffee and fruit juice. The range will be cited within a particular area of Parfetts depots and will be supported by specific point of sale material. If successful the range could be extended to include other lines such as wines and biscuits.

Parfetts’ group trading negotiator, Matthew Oxley said: “We believe that our range of Fairtrade products will give some of our more discerning retailers a point of difference that they are looking for.”
