The low prices of Greek peaches this season has had a knock-on effect throughout the industry. There is little profit in this sector for the packers and consequently they have processed 30% less than expected. With reduced processing there are fewer spare peaches on the market and prices are rising. This has put pressure on the fruit cocktail market because the packers in southern Italy buy diced peaches in Greece. These are not as abundant or as cheap as expected. {{PROVISIONS }}
