Three people have been charged with trying to sell the trade secrets of Coca-Cola - thanks to the help of its main rival PepsiCo.

The charges follow a six-week investigation by the FBI in the US after PepsiCo received a letter from a person willing to sell Coca-Cola's trade secrets. PepsiCo alerted Coca-Cola, sparking the investigation.

A spokesman for PepsiCo said: “Competition can sometimes be fierce but also must be fair and legal. We're pleased the authorities and the FBI have identified the people responsible for this.”
