Van Moppes joins from Unilever where he worked for 16 years. He joined Unilever as a graduate marketing trainee and progressed through a number of sales, marketing and category management roles. He also spent a period of time working for Unilever in the US.
He was most recently head of Unilever UK’s Sainsbury customer business unit and was a member of the UK sales executive team. Pernod Ricard UK said that van Moppes had a wealth of fmcg experience.
The company has also appointed Lee James as customer development director.
In a new role, James will lead a team focusing on category development and customer marketing across Pernod Ricard UK’s new wine, spirits and Champagne portfolio. He was most recently channel controller for grocery and convenience at Allied Domecq Wine UK.
