Upmarket blended Scotch Chivas Regal will be advertised on TV for the first time this Christmas.

Pernod Ricard is increasing its spend on Chivas by 25% year-on-year for the Live with Chivalry television campaign, which is running on Sky Sports from the autumn.

Absolut, Jacob's Creek and Brancott Estate previously known as Montana will return to television at the same time.

Pernod Ricard, which claimed it was spending 30% more this year on marketing than last year, was also introducing 35cl bottles of Chivas and Absolut (rsp: £12.49 and £8.99 respectively) in a bid to make the spirits "more accessible" and encourage trial among new drinkers, said Chris Ellis, off-trade channel director for spirits.

New festive gift packs will also be launched for Pernod's Martell VS Cognac, Glenlivet, Chivas Regal, Wyndham Estate and Jacob's Creek brands.
