Drinks group Pernod Ricard has reported a 32% increase in full-year net profit to 30 June to E639m (£429m) on sales up 68% at E6.066bn.

The results were boosted by last year's acquisition of drinks rival Allied Domecq and Pernod Ricard said that the merger had been a complete success.

The group added: “Following the successful integration of Allied Domecq, Pernod Ricard is beginning the 2006/07 financial year with confidence. The quality of Pernod Ricard brand portfolio and the strength of its distribution network should enable the group to generate strong organic sales and profit growth during the financial year.”
