Drinks group Pernod Ricard has reported a 7.3% increase in half-year sales to E3.507bn (£2.4bn), on group net profit up 2.3% at E500m (£341m).

The figures were boosted by “vigorous sales” in all its portfolio brands, especially “super and ultra premium segments” including Chivas 18-years-old, Ballantines 17-21-30-years old, Royal Salute, The Glenlivet, Martell and Perrier-Jouet Belle Epoque, the group said.

“I am very pleased with our excellent performance over the first half of the year,” said chairman Patrick Ricard. “We expect 20% growth in net profit form ordinary activities, excluding foreign exchange impact, for the full year if current business conditions remain unchanged.”
