Pernod Ricard UK is shaking up its executive committee and making 36 redundancies in its sales and marketing team.

From January, current deputy managing director for spirits Simon Thomas will replace Nick Blair as deputy managing director for wine. Blair is leaving to join Sydney-based Pernod Ricard Pacific as global communications director.

At the same time, current channel director for on-trade, Simon van Moppes, is taking on the role of UK commercial director for spirits. A replacement for his position has yet to be confirmed.

Meanwhile, 36 employees are facing redundancy following a consultation to restructure sales, marketing and communications functions. Redundancies were mitigated through natural attrition and a recruitment freeze, a spokeswoman said. However, 14 employees had not secured alternative roles within the business.
