Holsten is spending £2m on TV advertising for its Pils product in the run up to the Easter break. The adverts will feature Coughing Bob and are the creation of the Whitehouse/ Higson comedy team. The TV spend is part of the £12m annual budget for the brand, which has been benefiting from the company's new independent status in the UK, which has opened up extra channels of distribution. The company was formerly jointly owned by Scottish Courage and Holsten Brauerei but is now solely owned by the Hamburg brewer. Marketing manager Andy Edge said: "Over the past three years we have not only shown the trade we are prepared to promote the brand and persuade customers to drink it, but have developed customised business plans to help them sell it." {{DRINKS }}
