Private Liquor Brands is safeguarding its lines of supply by buying stakes in its major suppliers around the world. The first is with South African company Winecorp which produces the Dumisani brand, jointly owned with PLB. PLB has taken a 10% stake. Winecorp owns and manages 500ha of vines and five wineries. It provides wine for the own label market and produces several brands. PLB chairman Jeffery Fredericks said: "This represents the first of several investments we intend to make with our major suppliers in the next few years. "Negotiations are well advanced with another winery and there have been positive preliminary discussions with two further wine companies." {{DRINKS }}
