The PorkWatch survey of how much British pigmeat English retailers are stocking is to continue, despite having being intended as a 12-month project when introduced last year.
Organisers said the bi-monthly study would be prolonged because it had proved a success at highlighting which multiples supported the British pig industry.
Results of the survey of 400 stores across England are based on the proportion of retail packs that carry the BPEX’s Quality Standard Mark.
A £1m consumer awareness campaign to promote the mark is beginning now.
