The Hot Deals campaign will target over 15,000 post offices with details of 20 promotions on stationery and other items, to be followed up by sales force contacts from Premier Group members. Toys and festive decorations will be included later.
Premier Group non food trading controller Jonathan Romane said he was working closely with Nisa symbol retailers to encourage them to stock a core range of non food. "Many retailers are missing out by not stocking products which can give you some great margins."
Ready stocked merchandising units for retailers to capitalise on events such as Valentine's Day and Halloween had proved a hit, said Romane. Confusion over how to merchandise non food was often to blame for retailers' reluctance to stock it.
