Information technology publisher VNU has announced that it is increasing the cover price of two of its bestselling titles. The fortnightly Computeractive goes up from £1.20 to £1.30, from issue 111, on-sale May 16. The cover price increase will be supported by a special Spring cleaning kit' cover promotion. VNU said that the 10p increase would now provide retailers with news stand revenues in excess of £5.6m ­ an increase of 7.7%. VNU is also increasing the price of Personal Computer World, its longest-established computing title. From the July issue, on sale May 30, the cover price will rise from £2.99 to £3.25. VNU said Personal Computer World's annual news stand revenue would increase from £2.6m to £2.8m. It added that the publisher ould now contribute more than £10m to the UK retail industry through its news stand titles. Publisher Simon Haisman said: "These price increases demonstrate VNU's belief in the value of our magazines to readers and our commitment to growing revenues for the retailer." VNU said that it aimed to further boost news stand revenues in 2002 with the publication of Computeractive brand extensions such as The Computeractive Web Guide and Best of Workshops 2002, both of which will be on sale May 30. {{CTN }}
