The olive oil market has now been stable for a couple of weeks. Prices remain high, but rises seemed to have peaked. Indications from Spain are that it has processed a lot of olive oil. However, it is mainly poor-quality extra-virgin and commentators expect supplies of good quality oil to be in demand as the year goes on. The next big event in the calendar for olive oil is the spring flowering, which takes place at end of April. From this, the industry can forecast if the next crop will be a good one, and the market will react accordingly. This year is expected to be a good year, while next year is predicted to be poor. The market could still become very volatile. {{CANNED GOODS }}
