An on-line calculator is giving farmers the opportunity to calculate the value of their cattle.
Scotch Premier Meat has added the service to its web site for farmers supplying the Inverurie meat plant in Aberdeenshire.
Logging onto the company's pages on the goanm.co.uk website and keying in the estimated deadweight of the cattle and expected classification will give an accurate estimate of their net value, based on that week's price list.
Scotch Premier managing director Raymond Wight said: "The calculator brings real benefits to farmers by ensuring complete price transparency which is often lacking in the deadweight market."
