Logistics group Christian Salvesen’s half-year pre-tax profit to September 30 increased from £7.7m to £8.1m on turnover up from £399m to £402m.
However, the group warned that fuel costs continued to be an issue: “High oil prices during the first half not only added directly to our costs but also increased many of our customers’ own costs,” it said.
