Scottish meat bosses are celebrating following a favourable assessment of its Specially Selected Scotch Farm Assurance Scheme.

The Quality Meat Scotland scheme was recently analysed for strengths and weaknesses as part of a UK-wide examination of farm assurance by IGD.

QMS chairman, Jim Walker said the Specially Selected Scotch scheme was praised for its whole chain approach and the high awareness of the scheme throughout Scotland.

“In comparison with other schemes, we are happy to report that our analysis was extremely favourable,” he said.
