Reckitt Benckiser has announced a double-digit rise in profits for the past year to £1.89bn, up 12% on 2008.
Total sales at the Cillit Bang maker grew by 8% on a constant currency basis to £7.75bn – or by 6% excluding the impact of its pharmaceutical business.
"Reckitt Benckiser had a very good year in 2009,” said chief executive Bart Becht.
“This performance was supported by the Group's 17 Powerbrands, behind significant investment in media and marketing and successful new product initiatives."
Becht said the company was “confident of achieving continued good growth in 2010” and would target growth in profits of 10% for the year ahead.
