The Grocer Own Label Food & Drink Awards have again attracted a record number of entries.
Retailers have submitted 803 products for the 2013 awards - over 60 more than this year’s 739, itself a record.
The winners from 50 categories will be announced next May following a rigorous two-stage judging process - with a large-scale consumer test followed by expert assessment.
The growth of the awards reflected the growing importance a supermarket’s own-label offer played in differentiating itself from its rivals, said editor of The Grocer Adam Leyland.
“We look forward to again paying tribute to the UK’s own-label innovators,” he added.
