A record-breaking 700 Welsh products have been whittled down to 44 finalists in this year's True Taste Awards.
"We've had the highest number of entries in the six-year history of the awards," said Norma Barry, director of the Food and Development Division of the Welsh Assembly, which manages the competition.
There are 24 awards including Best Organic Product, Best Speciality Product and Retailer of the Year. Companies in the running include Pembroke-shire-based delicatessen Taste of the County, which is up for the retailer award, and South Caernarfon Cream-eries for its Spreadable Welsh Rarebit and Clam's Cakes with its Whisky Fruit Cake.
"It's brilliant to see a wide variety of high-quality products and innovative companies from across Wales reaching this stage of the competition," said Barry.
Winners will be announced at a dinner at the National Cricket Centre in Cardiff on 15 November. Tickets are available from 0800 085 3663, priced £65.
