Bass is increasing the level of activity behind its still premium packaged spirit Reef with the addition of a new flavour, the introduction of fresh packaging and a new TV ad campaign. This is part of the brand's £7m budget this year. The latest flavour in the range is Mango and Apple which was launched earlier this month in the new packaging which is also being used for the other two flavours Orange and Pineapple, Pineapple and Citrus. Bass reported the brand has trebled its market share in the on-trade last year and in the off-trade its grew its share by 161% [ACNielsen MAT to Feb 2001]. A spokesman said: "Consumers are demanding a greater choice of flavours. Apple and Mango will help establish the range as an authority in the flavoured alcoholic beverage (FAB) market and position it as the definitive drink for young women. The new TV ad will run from June until the end of August on ITV, C4, C5 and satellite. This will be supported by a nationwide sampling campaign as well as consumer press activity. {{DRINKS }}
