The retrial of former Hobson chief executive Andrew Regan was terminated on Monday when the jury was discharged for legal reasons.

In a case brought by the Serious Fraud Office, Regan was charged with the theft of £2.4m from FE Barber, a subsidiary of Hobson. Regan faced the same charge early last year, but the judge discharged the jury from reaching a verdict in his case and ordered a retrial.

At the end of the trial in April, two former CWS executives were each jailed for three and a half years and ordered to pay £50,000 towards SFO costs.
