IPC is reorganising its internet brands to ensure that they "protect and enhance the magazine brands they support" while at the same time delivering strong commercial returns. The announcement comes after IPC Media carried out a major review of its online business. The company will now focus on only six internet sites: NME.com; countrylife.co.uk; horseandhound.co.uk; decanter.com; web-user.co.uk; and ybw.com. Three internet sites: BEME.com; unmissabletv.com; and uploaded.com will close. Sly Bailey, chief executive of IPC Media, said: "The media landscape has changed considerably. "Two years ago, investment and confidence levels in the internet were overinflated. Now, the reality is very different and media organisations are adopting greater commercial realism in their forward plans. Bailey added: "This review has clearly identified where the commercial and strategic opportunities lie for our business. "IPC is now moving forward with a smaller, yet stronger and robust portfolio of digital brands on which we can drive future profit growth." {{CTN }}
