SABMiller, the world’s second largest brewer, said third quarter volumes had fallen in the US, while sales in South Africa during the peak Christmas period had grown.

Stateside, Miller Brewing’s domestic volumes fell 3% for the six months since SAB bought the business in the middle of last year. The group said management is continuing to focus on a wide range of business areas and initiatives to improve the situation.

Beer South Africa's volumes were up 2.6% in the period and 1% up on last year.
