The Real Good Food Co has announced a bumper rise in sales for the past six months.

Sales at the ingredients supplier, which also owns bakery manufacturer Haydens, were up 21% in the six months to 24 June, hitting £110m. Profits for the period hit £2.7m, up from £0.6m for the same period last year.

“During the second half of 2011 our management teams will remain focused on the key challenges of extending the Renshaw [bakery ingredients] brand in retail, expanding the Whitworth speciality sugar range, widening product offering at Garrett's and improving operational performance at Haydens,” said executive chairman Pierre Totté.

“Based on the progress we have made over the past six months, I am confident the group is on course to meet market expectations for the year.”
