Meat packing business Hilton Food Group has reported an 11.6% fall in full-year pre-tax profit to £13.7m on turnover up 9.7% at £577.7m.
The volume of meat packed for its customers rose in excess of 16% during the year to 31 December, Hilton Food Group said. Turnover in its Western Europe region, which includes the UK and Ireland, rose 6.5% to £551.8m.
The company has also started trials with Tesco in Poland which if successful could lead to Hilton's Tychy plant in Poland supplying Tesco stores in Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia.
