Sellotape has been sold to Henkel Consumer Adhesives, which already owns the Pritt and Loctite brands, for an undisclosed sum.
UK md Kim Walker said Henkel would invest heavily in Sellotape, which it bought from Verdoso Holdings, exploiting the brand synergies in its stable.
He said: "We want to become a one vendor category solution for retailers in the grocery sector, pursuing collective acquisition and organic growth."
He said Sellotape's plants in the UK and New Zealand, and sales operations in the UK, new Zealand, France and the Netherlands, would run as before.
