The Scottish Grocers' Federation executive has delayed appointing its next junior vice president until November. The delay comes after the main contender Graeme Hay, operations director of Aberness, withdrew to concentrate on work. Vice president Hamish Stewart replaces Jim Botterill as president in 2004. The Federation is to ratify a further four new members to its executive at its annual meeting on April 24. l A Scottish Grocers' Federation hotline went live this week. It provides members with a free advice line and information on subjects ranging from crime prevention to marital problems. SGF chief executive Scott Landsburgh said: "The next junior vice president will succeed the president in six years . It is unlikely that the executive will choose anyone who has already had a term in office." {{NEWS }}
