The PGMA already has two stores trading under the 2C Convenience in your Community fascia and plans to recruit an extra 18 next year.
PGMA commercial director Jim Amabile said the fascia had been slow to get off the ground so the original target of 36 stores by 2004 had been scaled back but several full refits were now in the pipeline.
In total, 72 PGMA member stores would be eligible to take the fascia, said Amabile.
The format is targeted at independents who want to be able to use a fascia to increase their commercial credibility.
PGMA is a non-profit making buying group which places orders with Nisa centrally and invoices members for payment two weeks later.
