Sharp has headed M&S marketing since June 2004. In addition to his previous responsibilities, Sharp will be responsible for the delivery of M&S’s store modernisation programme and for the M&S Money relationship with HSBC.
He has been marketing director for Asda, Booker and Arcadia, and group marketing director of the Burton Group.
Meanwhile, M&S has named Richard Flint as head of the new food development unit that is exploring new opportunities to develop and broaden its food business. The unit will oversee M&S’s new food initiatives such as hot food to go, eat-over deli counters and a bakery concept, and may tackle foodservice.
Flint was previously a category manager for food solutions at M&S and in his new role will report directly to head of food, Guy Farrant.
