Customers are more frustrated by the shopping experience than ever before, a retail survey by workforce and employee management Kronos has revealed.
The survey looked at what irritates customers across all types of stores and its effect on the retailer's reputation.
Long queues and poor service frustrate shoppers the most, with around 80% saying they are irritated with queuing and out-of-stocks. If queues are too long, 70% said they would leave the store without buying anything.
The three main improvements customers wanted to relieve frustration in stores were express queues, more checkout staff and better product availability.
