We have teamed up with ACNielsen Homescan to develop a new award, which will be based on the results of a survey of more than 9,000 households.
The Attitudes to Retailers survey asks shoppers to choose the nation’s favourite chain based on availability, choice, quality, service and value.
Mike Watkins, manager of retailer services at ACNielsen, said: “By developing this award in association with The Grocer we believe we are breaking new ground for the industry. This is an award that really matters - because it reflects what shoppers really think about the country’s top supermarket retailers.”
The Grocer Gold Awards ceremony will be held at Claridge’s Hotel in London on June 11 and is already a sell-out.
On the night, The Grocer will also name the best independent retail chain, the marketing excellence award, plus awards for best innovation, best own label range development, best own label supplier, best branded goods supplier and best NPD by a brand.
