Designed to recognise the crème de la crème of new product development, the prestigious biennial Sial d'Or Awards will be presented to the winners at a ceremony at the exhibition in October. These will then be displayed between exhibition halls five and seven. Winner of the best seafood product in the world was British nominee Youngs Bluecrest's Fish & Sauce, one of seven products entered by The Grocer in the final round of judging in this year's competition. The product was also acclaimed as the best British entry. It was praised as a truly convenient product because it could be cooked from frozen in 14 minutes, and appealed directly to young people who wanted to cook fish without any hassle. This will now automatically go through to the final judging for the biggest accolade of them all, the Global Sial d'Or award, which is decided by an international judging panel and announced at the ceremony. Thirty five awards will be made in total: nine product awards, 25 country awards, as well as the coveted Global Sial d'Or. {{FOCUS SPECIALS }}
