Like-for-like sales at Britvic declined slightly over the past three months, the soft drinks giant reported today.
In its first-quarter trading update, the juice maker reported that 4.5% growth in its GB carbonates business was largely offset by a similar decline in still drinks. GB sales stood at £191.7m – up just 0.8% over the equivalent period last year.
Britvic said the cold weather and continuing pressure in the pubs and clubs channel were behind the dip on still drinks. And sales in Ireland continued to fall, dropping more than 8% over the quarter.
But the acquisition of French drinks group Fruité last year meant that overall revenues were up 20% to a new high of £288.2m.
